✨ Building Safety Into Our Product — and Our Culture

At Lila, our mission is simple but deeply personal to help girls and women find joy in how they see themselves. Joy only exists where safety exists and because the internet hasn’t always been kind — especially to young women — safety isn’t an “add-on” for us.

It’s the foundation.

How We Designed Lila with Safety First

From day one, we made intentional choices to ensure Lila stays focused, protective, and respectful:

1. Lila only talks about fashion.

  • No loopholes.

  • No weird tangents.

  • No “AI drifting into random topics.”

  • If a user tries to discuss something outside fashion, Lila gently redirects back.

This keeps conversations purposeful, safe, and relevant to why you’re there.

2. Lila only recommends items from our verified database.

  • No shady websites.

  • No sketchy brands.

  • No links pulled from random corners of the internet.

  • Everything is vetted, intentional, and curated.

3. We rebuilt our infrastructure to center privacy.

We’re still in our early stages, but the architecture now reflects what matters most:

your data stays yours.

We don’t sell it, leak it, or play games with it.

Why We Don’t Believe in Heavy Surveys

Many products use long surveys to “personalize” your experience — but in reality, those surveys mostly feed algorithms, not humans.

And honestly?

They take too long.

They ask for too much.

And they don’t always deliver value back quickly.

Our philosophy:

Make the experience as easy and human as possible.

You engage when it makes sense for you — not because we force you to.

What We Don’t Talk About Enough: Safety Skills

We talk a lot about the dark side of the internet, AI, and social media — but we don’t talk enough about how to identify it and what to do when you come face to face with it. We believe in empowering users — especially young women — with their own instincts:

Here’s how you can protect yourself online:

  • Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is. Walking away is always okay.

  • Report things if Lila does something weird.  You can email us anytime at hello@lilathestylist.com. We take every report seriously.

  • Use your judgment. Technology evolves quickly — but your intuition is still your strongest guide.

Where Lila Is Going

We see Lila growing into a community-driven experience —a place where you can plan outfits with friends, ask questions, share ideas, and get support.

And we want that future to be:

  • safe

  • comfortable

  • reflective of who you are

  • and rooted in joy

Because you deserve that.

Our Commitment

The internet can be beautiful and harmful at the same time.

AI can be powerful and unpredictable.

Social media can connect and overwhelm.

Your judgment — your voice — is what helps you navigate it all.

As a brand, we are committed to:

  • designing responsibly

  • protecting your privacy

  • making safety non-negotiable

  • and empowering you as you explore the world of AI, fashion, and self-expression

You deserve to feel safe everywhere you show up.

And that includes with us.
