T-shirt and Jeans, Never Go Out Of Style
I recently had the chance to pitch at EchoHer X TechCrunch Disrupt. And like a lot of founders, the first question I asked myself wasn’t about slides or investors. It was: “What on earth do I wear?”
I looked at my closet and it was the usual story: t-shirts and jeans. It’s what I feel most comfortable in, it’s what feels most authentically me. And part of me wished Lila was ready to help me navigate moments just like this.
But instead of overthinking it, I leaned into what felt natural: I showed up in my t-shirt and jeans. And you know what? It inspired my entire pitch. It became a story about how real style isn’t about having a perfect wardrobe — it’s about having a tool that helps you feel like the best version of yourself.
Standing there in my most “me” outfit made me realize: I’m building Lila because I need her, too. Lila isn’t just about special events — she’s about those everyday moments when you want a little guidance. A little confidence. And a way to show up as your true self.
So that’s what I talked about. I shared the journey of building Lila, not from the perspective of a fashion guru, but as someone whose closet is mostly t-shirts, jeans, and a pair of yoga pants I never actually wear to yoga. And that’s exactly why Lila exists: to help all of us feel a little more at home in our own style.
If you’ve ever felt the same, come see how Lila’s evolving. We’re building her to be the stylist we all wish we had — the one that starts with who you really are.

How a T-Shirt and Jeans Inspired My Pitch
Wearing what felt authentically me made the whole pitch click: style starts with who you are, not what you own.
